The present invention relates to a polyamide-imide film which can realize surface hardness and mechanical properties while having transparency, and to a preparation method thereof. According to the present invention, the polyamide-imide film is a copolymer of an aromatic diamine, an aromatic dianhydride, and an aromatic dicarbonyl compound wherein the aromatic diamine and the aromatic dianhydride form an imide unit structure, the aromatic diamine and the aromatic dicarbonyl compound form an amide unit structure, and the proportion of the amide unit structure in the copolymer of 100 mol% of the unit structure is 50 to 70 mol%.
