The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a highly water-resistant melamine-urea resin adhesive for the manufacture of a structural laminated timber. The method comprises the following steps: (a) feeding formalin and melamine into a reactor, adjusting the pH to 8.6-9.0 by adding an alkaline solvent, heating the mixture at the temperature of 80-90°C, adjusting the pH to 8.6-9.0 by adding the alkaline solvent again, and maintaining a reaction for 1-1.5 hours; (b) introducing urea after maintaining the reaction of the above step; and (c) maintaining the reaction until the viscosity of the melamine-urea resin in the reactor is 120-210 mPa·s after the step.
