Provided are granular mesoporous silica and a method for producing same. A method for producing granular mesoporous silica comprises the steps of: preparing powder silica containing a structure-directing agent for forming mesopores; producing a molding precursor comprising the powder silica and an organic bonding agent; producing a granular mold of a set shape by extruding or injecting the molding precursor; and discarding the structure-directing agent and the organic bonding agent by calcinating the mold. The granular mesoporous silica produced according to the method has superb pore characteristics and can be used in water treatment and air pollution mitigation measures as an adsorbent which can effectively remove contaminants.
