The present invention relates to an apparatus for treating ballast water for ships with ultraviolet rays, and more particularly, to an apparatus for treating ballast water with ultraviolet rays, having an assembly type reed switch, in which the reed switch of the apparatus has a magnet inserted therein and is coupled by assembly. A cover member for sealing an accommodation groove, after an elastic member and the magnet are inserted into the accommodation groove of the reed switch, is made of a non-metal material to prevent corrosion between heterogeneous metals caused by metal components in the ballast water. A protrusion is formed at the inner surface of the accommodation groove of the reed switch, and a protrusion joint groove is formed at the outer surface of the cover member so as to firmly couple the accommodation groove and the cover member. The cover member has, at one end thereof, a stopper for accurately adjusting the depth of the insertion of the cover member.
