The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for detecting cracks in the contact part of an electronic device. More particularly, the apparatus and method perform repetitive pattern filtering by providing vibrations having a frequency and waveform in preset effective ranges to a connection part and measuring a resistance value. Through said filtering, patterns of the measured resistance values and values of the vibrations are analyzed, and the analyzed results in correspondence to crack-related information are outputted. Accordingly, a detection assessment function for a faulty state of the contact part can be enhanced. In addition, assessment accuracy of the degree of cracking can be enhanced by performing repetitive pattern filtering using a lock-in algorithm and outputting accurate patterns distinguished differently from each other according to the cracked state of the connection part.
