The present invention relates to a method for producing a polyimide film, and to a polyimide film produced through the same. According to the method of the present invention, a colorless and transparent polyimide is produced by imidizing a polyamic acid solution at a relatively low temperature, and a colorless and transparent polyimide film can be produced by using the polyimide, wherein the polyimide film is soft, so the polyimide film can be used for a displaying function. The method comprises the steps of: (a) producing a polyamic aicd solution by adding dianhydride and diamine in a solvent, and by agitating the same; (b) adding a chemical dehydrating agent and a catalyst in the produced polyamic acid solution; (c) producing a polyimide solution by imidizing the polyamic acid solution at 20 to 80°C; (d) coating the produced polyimide solution on a substrate; and (e) producing a polyimide film by drying the coated polyimide solution.
