The device may refrain from considering blacklisted cells for cell operations such as reselection and handover. The device may blacklist cells that fail selection criteria or system information decoding. In some embodiments, the device is configured to manage inclusion of cells on the blacklist based on whether the cells are part of a home network (e.g., an HPLMN) for the mobile device. The device may delete cells that are part of the home network from the blacklist after an out-of-service event or may refrain from adding cells from the home network to the blacklist after certain failures, for example. In various embodiments the disclosed techniques may avoid blacklisting desirable cells in certain scenarios while still enabling blacklist functionality. This may improve wireless performance and battery life, for example.

The sensor includes two planar conductive electrodes separated by a predetermined distance using an elastic spacer to define an initial capacitance value of the sensor. An applied external force deforms the elastic spacer and minimizes the gap between sensor electrodes to alter the nominal capacitance value. This change in capacitance is monitored to measure the magnitude of the touch force. The sensor includes two types of the elastic spacers with different values of stiffness to overcome the trade-off between sensitivity and dynamic range of force measurement. These elastic spacers are interposed between sensor electrodes and are offset with a height difference to provide two ranges of force measurement.

A user equipment (UE) may adaptively switch between hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) monitoring modes to support power savings. In a first HARQ skipping mode, the UE may transmit an uplink message corresponding to a HARQ identifier and may receive a positive acknowledgment (ACK) message in a HARQ monitoring occasion associated with the HARQ identifier. Upon receiving the ACK message, the UE refrains from monitoring a subsequent HARQ monitoring occasion associated with the HARQ identifier while in the first HARQ skipping mode (e.g., an aggressive HARQ skipping mode). The UE may periodically enter a periodic evaluation mode from the first HARQ skipping mode, in which the UE monitors a subsequent HARQ monitoring occasion after receiving an ACK message to check for false ACK messages. If a false ACK message is detected, the UE enters a first HARQ skipping prohibited mode.

A method for diagnosing induction motor broken bar faults using the resultant magnetic field pendulous oscillation phenomenon is disclosed. Broken bar faults cause the resultant magnetic field of an induction motor to possess a pendulous oscillation modulating its inherent rotation at synchronous speed, and the range of this angular pendulous oscillation, referred to as the swing angle, increases with an increase in the number of broken bars. The angular pendulous oscillation is determined by calculating the space vectors derived from motor terminal voltages and currents. The variation in the angular difference between these two space vectors versus time is used to observe the resultant magnetic field's pendulous oscillation, and thus provide on-line rotor fault diagnostics.
