Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren umfaßt folgende Schritte: Gießen mittels eines Tauchausgusses (4), Einsatz von Gießpulver (5) zur Bildung von Gießschlacke, Oszillieren der Kokille, Messung der Temperaturverteilung der Kupferplattenhauttemperatur zumindest über die Kokillenbreite im Gießspiegelbereich, Regelung des partiellen Kühlwassers in Druck und/oder Menge über die Kokillenbreite zur Vergleichmäßigung und Kontrolle der Kupferplattenhauttemperatur im Gießspiegelbereich. Die Erfindung umfaßt auch eine Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des Verfahrens.
