The use of quaternary halogenated ammonium salts for treating leishmaniasis infections and other parasitic diseases is described. Although there have been previous reports in which quaternary ammonium salts are used as antimalarial, antifungal, and antileishmanial compounds, the use of such salts containing a halogenated N-methyl substituent as a therapeutic agent against leishmaniasis had not been reported. The compounds described here, in specific those with a terminal arylalkenyl or diarylalkenyl moiety, are shown to inhibit the growth of Leishmania panamensis parasites, a known causative agent of leishmaniasis disease. In addition, the series of compounds are also extensive against malaria, Chagas disease, toxoplasmosis, and other parasitic diseases.

A free radical radiation curable inkjet ink containing a photoinitiator and polymerizable compounds including a) no more than 15 wt% of one or more monofunctional acrylates wherein the homopolymer thereof has a Tg smaller than 20°C; and b) at least 45 wt% of a mixture of monomers consisting of b1) 10 to 45 wt% of a N-vinyl lactam and/or a vinylether acrylate; and b2) 10 to 45 wt% of an ethoxylated and/or propoxylated polyacrylate having a molecular weight of at least 450; wherein all wt% are based on the total weight of the inkjet ink; and wherein the Tg is determined by the DSC method in ISO 11357-2:1999. An inkjet printing method is also disclosed.

Although the internal bus of the shelf is shown in a non-redundant embodiment, an increased level of equipment protection can be provided by placing one half of a redundant equipment pair in one shelf and the other half in the other shelf and sharing network termination equipment between such shelves.
