Antigenic peptides for the detection of chlamydia-related bacteria and tests of diagnosis

The present invention relates to the disclosed recombinant or synthetic peptides for use in the diagnosis of an infection by intracellular Chlamydia -like bacteria. The invention also relates to a serological diagnostic test. The recombinant peptides are selected from the proteome of Waddlia chondrophila properties of binding to antibodies of infected human and animals. The test may give further insight in the role of this microorganism in miscarriage, and in other infectious diseases. Furthermore, the peptides of the invention may be used in vaccination against conditions caused by Chlamydia -like bacteria.
