A radiation inspection system includes a shielding door device for a radiation inspection system, comprising a door body, two guides located on two opposite sides of the door body, a rack, a gear and a motor. The two guides are fixed on an upper surface of a frame and the door body is movably connected to the two guides via bearings. The rack is fixed on a bottom of the door body and meshed with the gear. The gear is coupled with a shaft of the motor fixed on a lower surface of the frame. This configuration is advantageous in automatic and complete shielding of the radiation inspection system without interference. In addition the shielding door can be controlled intelligently, so that accidental radiation leakage can be prevented.

Reconstruction of the CT apparatus without a rotary gantry is achieved and special substances in an object under inspection is identified by optimizing design of the carbon nanotube X-ray source and the detector device. The invention ensures that the stationary gantry type CT system has a small size and a high accuracy and is particularly suitable for safety inspection of baggage.

The present invention discloses a ray beam guiding apparatus, comprising a ray beam guiding box having substantially fan-shaped top and bottom surfaces, defining an inner space, and having open wide and narrow ends; an engaging member joined to the narrow end of the box; a first collimator mounted to the box adjacent to the narrow end for adjusting size/shape of the ray beam in horizontal vertical direction; a second collimator having a calibration slit or grill and mounted to the box adjacent to the wide end; and an adjusting member connecting the engaging member and a ray generator to adjust a distance therebetween. The box can adjust size/shape and centering of the ray beam, so that inspection quality can be improved and thickness of the ray shielding layer can be reduced, the box is applicable to a ray inspection system which performs security inspection of liquid articles.

A patch antenna comprises a radiating patch 120 and a coupling patch 130, each formed on a top surface of a dielectric substrate 110. The coupling patch 130 extends from the edge of the substrate 110 to a position spaced from the radiating patch 120 and a metal support 140 is on the lower surface of the substrate and extends from the edge of the substrate 110 down to the ground 150. The said metal support 140 provides a layer of air 160, of a predetermined thickness, between the lower surface of the substrate 110 and ground 150. The metal support 140 may be made of copper. Various dimensional ranges associated with the arrangement of the patch antenna are indicated. A plurality of patch antennas may be used to form a linear antenna array. Alternatively, a plurality of radiating patches and corresponding plurality of coupling patches may be formed on a substrate with a metal support, similar to that already disclosed above. The compact patch antenna, or antenna array, may operate with a wideband (K-Ka band) to provide a directional signal beam. A horn arrangement may be used to improve the impedance matching of the antenna to free space and to improve the isolation between individual antenna elements of an antenna array.
