An underwater propulsion device comprising:(a) a foot board;(b) a battery sealed in a watertight compartment that is integrated with said foot board;(c) wherein said foot board comprises two portions, each with an attachment structure for one of said user's feet, and wherein said portions are connectable to one another by a linkage that permits said portions to pivot relative to one another;(d) wherein said device has two battery-powered underwater propulsion units; and wherein the first of said propulsion units is mounted on the first of said portions of said foot board and the second of said propulsion units is mounted on the second of said portions of said foot board; and wherein each of said portions of said foot board has at least one integrated battery in it that is connected by a watertight connection to the one of said propulsion units that is mounted on that portion of said foot board;(e) a throttle control system integrated with said foot board that allows the throttle of said propulsion unit to be controlled by a swivel movement of said user's foot, wherein at least one of said foot attachment structures comprises a foot pedal mount that fixes one end of said user's foot to said foot board about a rotational axis that allows the opposite end of said user's foot to swivel from side to side; and wherein said throttle control system further includes a spring return which tends to bring said user's foot to neutral position when said user does not exert any swivel force with their foot.2. Devices and method are disclosed for provision of a quick release lacing system for shoes. A lace is fitted with a releasable connector that can be activated manually or automatically to disconnect the laces, allowing the wearer to then pull the laces party or fully off the shoe in a single movement. Such tools are particularly useful for sporting and tactical shoes, wherein the wearer may have a need to quickly extract their foot from the shoe, such as in an emergency situation. 1. A quick release shoe lace system comprising:(a) a shoe lace capable of being tightened on a shoe through two or more lace openings;(b) said shoe lace having a releasable end with two loose ends;(c) a releasable connector capable of holding together said two loose ends, and also capable of being manipulated to cause said two loose ends to separate from each other; and(d) wherein said shoe lace is capable of being removed from said shoe by a single continuous pulling motion when said releasable connector is not holding together said two loose ends.2. The quick release shoe lace system of claim 1 , wherein said releasable connector comprises a housing with two opposing walls claim 1 , and wherein said two loose ends of said laces can be placed between said two opposing walls claim 1 , and further including a friction element capable of holding said two loose ends within said releasable connector claim 1 , wherein said friction element can also be manipulated to release said two loose ends from said releasable connector.3.
