In a scroll machining method, a scroll has a disc-like end plate and a scroll wall extending from a first side surface of the disc-like end plate, and the scroll is driven to rotate around a center axis C of the scroll, and a first cutter machines a side wall surface of the scroll wall while the scroll is rotating. The first cutter is a non-rotary cutter. When the scroll is machined, the scroll rotates around its center axis, and the first cutter does not rotate around its axis, thereby improving the scroll's machining precision and machining efficiency. 1. A method for machining a scroll , wherein the scroll comprises a disc-like end plate and a scroll wall extending from a first side surface of the disc-like end plate , and wherein the method comprises:machining a side wall surface of the scroll wall by a first cutter when the scroll is driven to rotate around a center axis of the scroll, the first cutter being a non-rotary cutter.2. The method according to claim 1 , wherein the first cutter moves along a first direction parallel with the center axis and along a second direction vertical to the first direction and pointing to the center axis.3. The method according to claim 2 , wherein the scroll is clamped on a clamp claim 2 , and is driven to rotate by rotation of the clamp.4. The method according to claim 3 , wherein the scroll is a fixed scroll.5. The method according to claim 4 , whereinthe clamp clamps a peripheral surface of the disc-like end plate of the fixed scroll.6. A scroll compressor ( 1 ) including an enclosure ( 2 ); a compression section ( 6 ) arranged within the enclosure ( 2 ), the compression section ( 6 ) has a fixed scroll element ( 7 ) having a first baseplate ( 11 ) and a first wrap portion ( 12 ) extending from the first baseplate ( 11 ), and an orbiting scroll element ( 8 ) having a second baseplate ( 13 ) and a second wrap portion ( 14 ) extending from the second baseplate ( 13 ), the fixed and orbiting scroll elements ( 7, 8 ) being intermeshed to form compression chambers ( 15 ); and a driving section ( 16 ) coupled with the orbiting scroll element ( 8 ) for moving the orbiting scroll element ( 8 ) in an orbiting motion during operation of the scroll compressor ( 1 ). At least one of the fixed and orbiting scroll elements ( 7, 8 ) is made of solid solution strengthened ferritic ductile iron.

The scroll compressor includes stationary and moving volutes each including a scroll plate provided with a spiral wrap, the spiral wraps defining the variable-volume compression chambers, a delivery conduit including a first end emerging in a central compression chamber and a second end designed to be communicated with a delivery chamber, a delivery valve movable between closing and opening positions for closing and opening at least one delivery opening arranged to communicate the delivery conduit and the delivery chamber, at least one bypass valve associated with a bypass passage arranged to communicate the delivery chamber with an intermediate compression chamber. The compressor includes a retaining plate mounted on the scroll plate of the stationary scroll and on which first and second retaining elements are formed, the latter being arranged to limit respectively the amplitude of movement of the delivery valve and of each bypass valve toward the opening position thereof.
