Achieving limitation of maximum required 1-D transforms enables more efficient implementation on hardware and improves encoding performance but also allows for further partitions according to texture patterns which comprise at least one of multiple strips, texture patterns with highly unsymmetrical pixel distribution and non-directional texture patterns.

Image or video encoding standards provide different intra prediction modes, which may employ a spatial intra prediction direction and a DFT. Picture encoding is further optimized by an adaptive quantization of the frequency domain parameters. A method for quantizing or inverse quantizing frequency domain parameters that refer to a residual, which is the difference between a current image and a predicted image, is disclosed. If the predicted image was obtained by spatial intra prediction (10) using an intra-prediction direction, one of a plurality of different quantization matrices is selected (14) and used for quantizing (13) or inverse quantizing said parameters. The selection depends on the intra-prediction direction (s10) that was used. As a result, for images with horizontal prediction direction the quantization is finer for horizontal structures than for vertical structures, and vice versa. In known video coding standards there are basically three types of pictures: I, P and B. Video sequences are usually coded in a group of picture structure wherein several P or B pictures are coded following one I picture. However, this GOP structure has some disadvantages with respect to error resilience and storage medium recording. If a P picture is lost e.g. due to transmission channel error, then the subsequent P pictures can not be reconstructed correctly, and the error will propagate temporally and cause unpleasing artifacts. This GOP structure is designed for forward play only and makes complicated a reverse play operation. According to the invention, a reversible GOP structure is used for the video encoding and decoding. The RGOP structure contains both, a forward encoding chain and a backward encoding chain. Salience estimation for object-based visual attention model

The present invention provides a salience estimation method for object-based visual attention model. The method comprises steps of segmenting the image into a plurality of objects to be estimated, extracting feature maps for each segmented object, calculating the saliences of each segmented object in a set of circles defined around a centre pixel of the object based on the extracted feature maps, and integrating the saliences of each segmented object in all circles in order to achieve an overall salience estimation for each segmented object. The present invention is much more human vision inosculated and of low computing complexity.

The invention discloses a design method for enhancing the interface shear and inter-layer load transfer ability of double-layer GO-CSH, including the following steps: Step 1: Establishing a C-S-H molecular model; Step 2: Establishing a graphene molecular model and obtaining double-layer graphene by Build Layer; Step 3: Establishing a double-layer graphene oxide molecular model; Step 4: Connecting the sp3 inter-layer bond to the upper and lower graphene oxide; Step 5: Forming a double-layer GO/C-S-H molecular model; Step 6: Forming a double-layer GO/C-S-H molecular model with sp3 inter-layer bonds; Step 7: Characterizing the force field parameters of D-GO-CSH molecular model and Lsp3 molecular model by reaction force field molecular dynamics. The invention adopts the above-mentioned design method for enhancing the interface shear and inter-layer load transfer ability of double-layer GO-CSH, the normalized inter-layer stress transfer value, normalized inter-layer pull-out energy and normalized inter-layer shear stress of D-GO-CSH and Lsp3 molecular models are calculated by molecular dynamics theory, and the molecular configuration of D-GO is actively regulated to improve the interfacial shear and inter-layer load transfer ability of D-GO-CSH.
