A rinse water additive dispenser for use in an automatic washing machine is disclosed. The dispenser includes a top, a valve assembly and a base releasably connected to the top. The resilient valve is located, enclosed, or compressed between the top and base portions when the top and base are connected. The top and base can be connected with threads, tongue and groove structures etc. When subjected to the centrifugal force of a spin cycle, the movement of the counterweight within the device causes the resilient disk to unseat from between the top and base allowing fluid communication between the dispenser and the tub of the washing machine. Optionally, the dispenser can have an elliptical cross section to promote proper orientation of the dispenser during the spin and rinse cycles. Further, a protective material can be affixed to the outer surfaces of the top and base portions of the dispenser.

The dough-like mixture produced in the post extrusion mixer is leavened and further browned using post-extrusion baking, such as microwave, dielectric radio frequency, infrared, conductive, or convection baking, frying, or a combination thereof. The shortening or fat content of the dough-like mixture may be from about 12 % by weight to about 40 % by weight, preferably from about 20 % by weight to about30 % by weight, based upon the weight of the dough-like mixture. Separation of oil from the remaining mass and extruder surging and starch gelatinization are avoided preferably by admixing water into heat-treated ingredients comprising flour and oil after and during substantial cooling of the heat-treated ingredients. The extruder and post extrusion mixer are operated at low pressures, generally less than about 20 bars absolute, preferably less than about 10 bars absolute. The relative amount of solid, crystalline or granulated sugar, such as sucrose, subjected to the heat treatment may be used to control the tenderness and crunchiness of the final product.

ABSTRACT LONG-LASTING CHEWING GUM HAVING GOOD PROCESSIBILITY AND METHOD A chewing gum is provided which has long-lasting sweetness, good sweat resistance and good processibility characteristics and includes a water-soluble phase formed of aqueous softener, such as sorbitol syrup, and a first sweetener, such as sorbitol or sugar, in particulate form dispersed throughout the aqueous softener, and a relatively water-insoluble phase formed of a plurality of separate and distinct masses suspended in and dispersed throughout the water-soluble phase, each of the masses being formed of particles of gum base and particles of a second sweetener, such as mannitol and/or sorbitol or sugar, envelope by particles of gum base. The first sweetener and aqueous softener provide the initial impact of sweetness while the gum base provides an envelope or protective vehicle for the second sweetener, thereby providing extended sweetness after the initial sweetness impact has subsided. The relatively water-insoluble phase including gum base particles and/or the water-soluble phase further includes hydrogenated starch hydrolysate which functions as a binder, without detracting from sweetness, to improve cohesivity and processibility and allow for sheeting of the chewing gum and the manufacture thereof in stick form. A method for preparing the above chewing gum is also provided.

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to the production of cookies which exhibit a cookie crumb-like structure and structural integrity using a cooker extruder to mix and heat ingredients comprising flour and oil to promote browning and flavor development. The heat treated mass produced in the cooker extruder is admixed with ingredients comprising water in a post extrusion mixer. The dough-like mixture produced in the post extrusion mixer is leavened and further browned using post-extrusion baking, such as microwave, dielectric radio frequency, infrared, conductive, or convection baking, frying, or a combination thereof. The shortening or fat content of the dough-like mixture may be from about 12% by weight to about 40% by weight, preferably from about 20% by weight to about 30% by weight, based upon the weight of the dough-like mixture. Separation of oil from the remaining mass and extruder surging and starch gelatinization are avoided preferably by admixing water into heat-treated ingredients comprising flour and oil after and during substantial cooling of the heat-treated ingredients. The extruder and post extrusion mixer are operated at low pressures, generally less than about 20 bars absolute, preferably less than about 10 bars absolute. The relative amount of solid, crystalline or granulated sugar, such as sucrose, subjected to the heat treatment may be used to control the tenderness and crunchiness of the final product.

A brake controller (26) receives power from a battery (45) and generates the brake control signal. An electrical connector includes signal terminals connected to the brake control signal and power terminals connected to the battery (45).
