Door hinge

The assembly 110 comprises a first hinge portion 112 arranged, in use, to be attached to a side edge of the shower door panel 100 wherein the first hinge portion has a pin 116 protruding vertically therefrom, a second hinge portion 114 arranged, in use, to be attached to a support and to cooperate with the first hinge portion so that the shower door panel can hinge between an open position and a closed position about an axis of rotation, having a vertical socket arranged, in use, to receive the pin wherein the socket has a lateral opening arranged, in use, to cover the opening to retain the pin in the socket, the axis of rotation is situated adjacent to the side edge of the shower door panel and substantially between a front and rear face of the shower door panel. The pin may be inserted through the lateral opening in a pre-determined angular position of the first and second hinge portions relative to each other.

The assembly 110 comprises a first hinge portion 112, in use, connected to a side of a shower door panel 102 and a second hinge portion 114, in use, connect to a support 104. The first and second hinge portions cooperate with one another so that the shower panel can hinge between an open and closed position about an axis of rotation which is adjacent to a side edge of the shower door panel and positioned between a front and rear face of the shower door panel. Also disclosed is a hinge assembly with a vertical pin received in a vertical socket via a lateral opening which can be covered by a retaining member. The pin and socket may be configured such that the pin passes through the opening in a pre-determined angular position of the hinge portions. A hinge assembly (100), for a shower door comprising a first panel (102) rotatably connected to a second panel (104), comprises a first hinge member (106) having a first body portion (118a) for attachment to the first panel and a first neck portion (116a), the first hinge member being arranged to allow rotation of the first panel with respect to the second panel about a hinge axis. The first body portion (118a) is arranged to be connected to the first panel (102) so as to lie at least partially within a recessed region thereof, such that the hinge axis lies within a footprint of the first panel. The hinge assembly further comprises a second hinge member 108 having a second body portion (118b) for attachment to the second panel such that the hinge axis lies outside a footprint of the second panel 104, and a second neck portion (116b) arranged to be rotatably connected to the first neck portion to allow the rotation. The neck portions are narrower than the body portions and shaped to prevent the hinge members (106), (108) from colliding as the panels (102, 104) rotate.

An electronic lock moves between latched or locked and unlatched or unlocked states and has an outer housing extending along a central axis. A lock plug includes a motor mounted eccentric relative to the outer housing. An output shaft rotates about a rotation axis spaced from the central axis of the outer housing. A lock wafer radially moves relative to the rotation axis, and is movable between engaged and disengaged positions, which corresponding respectively to the latched or locked and unlatched or unlocked states. To be moved into the engaged position, the lock wafer is at least partially positioned within a recess of the outer housing and is urged by a bias toward the engaged position to restrict movement of the lock wafer toward the disengaged position. To be moved into the disengaged position, the lock wafer is moved away from the recess against the bias to permit movement of the lock wafer toward the disengaged position.
