The presence or amount of monoclonal antibody-anti-steroid antibody complex formed is related to the amount of steroid receptor present in the assayed material. A histochemical assay is also provided for detecting the amount of a steroid-receptor complex in a biological sample. This assay involved (1) adding an amount of steroid to the sample to form a steroid-receptor complex; (2) contacting the complex with a monoclonal antibody capable of binding to the complex; (3) removing any unbound monoclonal antibody; (4) adding a detectably labeled antibody capable of binding to the monoclonal antibody; (5) determining the amount of labeled antibody bound to the monoclonal antibody; and (6) determining the amount of steroid-receptor complex. The invention further provides a method of purifying receptors to a steroid hormone using monoclonal antibodies capable of binding to the receptor, and a method for producing a monoclonal anti-idiotypic antibody capable of binding to a steroid receptor.

These salts find utility in lubricants and fuels other than 2-cycle engine lubricants and fuels.

The present invention relates to an improved ball tossing device that is portable and adjustable to accommodate a variety of different balls and lobbing preferences. This may be achieved through various features including some or all of the following: a ball feeding mechanism using a rotating disk with an offset feed channel to deliver balls to the ball tossing queue; a catapult arm that uses a motor/spring mechanism to toss balls in the queue out of the machine; an indexer feature for isolating the ball to be tossed from the other balls in the queue; and adjustable features that allow users to vary ball trajectory of the ball being tossed.

The legs a are recessed at the upper corners to receive the side pieces c of the frame, which is provided with a bottom n and a partitioned compartment for the cues r, balls s, &c., and is lined with cloth. The bed h is formed of a single piece of " composition," consisting of compressed cardboard with or without a core of wood &c., and is covered with a thin layer i of plaster of Paris, or a mixture of plaster of Paris and gum, liquid glue, or varnish, rubbed smooth, and varnished, preferably with hard brown varnish mixed with a slate powder, before applying the baize or cloth k.
