A device for holding a dust sheet in position comprises a generally I or T-shaped nylon plate having projections 110 112 88 90 92 94 102 103 at one end and a pin 86 which projects at right angles to the plate at the other. In use, a dust sheet 182 is arranged adjacent a wall and a gripper rod 176 and a projection 158 is inserted through the sheet and into the carpet so the device is at an acute angle to the carpet. In this position the device is pivoted toward the gripper rod 176 and the pin 86 passes through the carpet. The end of the pin is then laterally flexed by the gripper rod which simultaneously causes the plate to flex. The flexing of both pin and plate serve to wedge the plate against the wall and releasably anchors the plate and dust sheet in position. Branches 68 70 76 78 inhibit rotational pivoting in the plane of the plate of the device when fitted.

Keyboard layout suitable for e.g. mobile telephones and personal digital assistants

A keyboard having e.g. for a mobile phone or PDA, that reduces the chance of simultaneous input of more than one character, and increases the speed and accuracy of character entry. The keyboard comprises a plurality of keys 7, each of which can be used to input at least two characters with a single actuation of the key. Simultaneous input of more than one of the characters is inhibited by means of an inelastic rocker (18, Fig. 4) underneath each key, about which the key can be tilted. With sufficient downward force of part of the key, a corresponding pin (19, 20, 21, Figs. 4 and 5) under the key contacts the key matrix causing a circuit to be completed. The securing member is of aluminium, and the protecting member is of resilient plastics. The protecting member locates on the riser either by its own resilience or with the help of rubber or glue or a further securing member on its under-surface.
