A medical device comprising:a catheter;a balloon mounted on the catheter, the balloon extending longitudinally from a distal end to a proximal end and having an outer surface, the balloon radially expandable from a first state wherein the balloon has a first diameter to an inflated state wherein the balloon has a second diameter greater than the first diameter; the lateral-facing surface,', 'a distal-facing surface extending from the distal end of the lateral-facing surface to the distal end of the balloon and having a diameter less than the lateral-facing surface, and', 'a proximal-facing surface extending from the proximal end of the lateral-facing surface to the proximal end of the balloon and having a diameter less than the lateral-facing surface,, 'wherein the balloon, in the inflated state, defines a laterally-facing body portion that extends along the portion of the balloon having the largest diameter, the lateral-facing body portion comprising a lateral-facing surface, wherein the outer surface of the balloon compriseswherein at least a portion of the outer surface of the balloon comprises a micropattern.2. The medical device of claim 1 , wherein the micropattern comprises an adhesive micropattern.3. The medical device of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the catheter comprises a micropattern.4.
