A method is provided for a base station set (NODE B) adapted for RLC and MAC-hs signaling in acknowledged mode (AM), the base station set at least forwarding protocol data units (MAC-d PDU) from a Radio Network controller (RNC) to a user entity (UE), the method comprising the steps of monitoring (1) the MAC layer of the transmission entity of the base station set (1), if a MAC discard has occurred in the MAC layer (3), that is, protocol data units (PDU's) have been deleted in the input buffer of the base station set (NODE B), transmitting (7) a discard notification message from the MAC transmission entity in the base station set to the RLC layer of the radio network controller (RNC), indicative of the discarding of protocol data units. There is moreover provided a method for a radio network controller (RNC) adapted for RLC and MAC-hs signaling in acknowledged mode (AM) and a method for a user entity (UE) adapted for RLC and MAC-hs signaling.

A method and an arrangement in which the assemblies or assembly parts like fiber lengths, opto- and optoelectronic components are transferred between processing modules (46). The assembly parts (22) including a fiber length (23, 24) are arranged on a pallet means (14), which is transferred on a track (16) between the different processing modules. A free end (25, 26) of the optical fiber length is picked up by a robot device (40) and is processed at one of the processing modules. Finally, the robot device holding the fiber end and the pallet means are transferred to another processing module in a common sequence.

A method and apparatus for controlling a Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) window size for data sent from a TCP sending node via a mobile network. The TCP sending node receives a TCP request message from a remote node requesting a TCP data stream. The TCP request message includes a parameter relating to conditions in the mobile network and/or the presence of a TCP proxy node. The TCP sending node uses the parameter to determine an initial permissible window size for a TCP slow start mechanism. It can then send a TCP data stream towards a TCP receiving node using the slow start mechanism starting with the initial permissible window size. This allows the slow start phase to start with a higher initial window size.
