The invention relates to Intelligent Transport Systems, ITS, providing ITS services where an ITS station, ITS-S, is tested. ITS messages broadcast by the Station Under Test, SUT, is signed with an authorization ticket, AT. The same dedicated Test ITS-application identifier, ITS AID, is used in the AT for multiple operational ITS services under test, while the specific authorizations at ITS service level are signalled in the Service Specific Permissions, SSP, section of the ATs. The SSP can signal a unique authorized service or list several of them. The testing system deduces the type, hence the format, of the broadcast ITS message (carrying the dedicated Test ITS AID) from the SSP section of the AT or from the message ITS itself. A method of enabling a control device 100 to control a video camera 162 in a surveillance system comprising a plurality of video cameras, comprising obtaining a signature of the control device, identifying information corresponding to the signature in a video stream generated by a video camera, and associating the device with the video camera, enabling control of the camera by the device. Preferably the information identified is an image such as a barcode or a matrix code, a sequence of flashing lights of varying intensity, or a movement of the device which generates a signature. A claim is also included to a method of the control device, which determines an event visually detectable by the camera and generates a signature based on the event, and transmits the signature to the controller module of the surveillance system, allowing the device is able to control the camera.
