A method of continuously hot-rolling sheet bars in which a roughly rolled leading sheet bar and a trailing sheet bar are abutted prior to a hot finish rolling step. Plastic deformation of either or both of the cut rear and front end portions of the leading and trailing sheet bars is applied. End portions are brought into contact with each other due to metal flow, forming a gap portion between the sheet bars. The thickness of the sheet bar around the gap portion is enlarged in comparison to the thickness of the contact portions, and hot finish rolling fills the gap so that the bars are strongly joined over their width.

Disclosed herein is a process for coiler drum alternation in incessant hot rolling in which continual finish hot rolling of rough-rolled sheet bars united on the entry side of a finishing hot rolling mill is carried out by tilting upper and lower tillable pinch rolls disposed on the exit side of a shear on the downstream of the finishing mill, thereby changing the traveling direction of the steel strip so that a leading end formed upon cutting the strip will be directed toward the next coiler drum to be used, and thereafter cutting the strip. This process enables an easy and assured alternation of coiler drums, thereby contributing to increases in the speed and efficiency of incessant hot rolling.

A fuel injection device for a diesel engine or the like confines the fuel injection pressure to a predetermined range. Fuel is fed under pressure from a fuel supply source to a high pressure chamber to develop a pressure therein. An injection nozzle is mounted on a nozzle holder and has a nozzle hole for injection fuel in response to the pressure in the high pressure chamber. The nozzle holder has thereinside a low pressure chamber which communicates to the outside. An injection rate control valve is mounted in the nozzle holder for delivering fuel to the low pressure chamber on the elevation of the fuel pressure communicated to the high pressure chamber beyond a predetermined value.

In this invention, a back end portion of a preceding sheet bar and a front end of a succeeding sheet bar are cut in a transfer line at an entrance side of a finish rolling mill so that at least both side edge regions of these sheet bars are contacted with each other at a butted contact state thereof and a gap is formed between both end portions and then portions to be joined in the preceding and succeeding sheet bars are locally heated and pushed to join them while gradually enlarging a joining area, whereby the required time is largely reduced as compared with the conventional technique and also it is attempted to miniaturize the heating apparatus and shorten the length of the apparatus.
