The invention discloses a functional marker and a method for detecting a rice GW3p6 gene by using a melting curve. A functional marker is designed by taking a functional site of a 15-base sequence 5 '-tccttcaccaagga-3' in a boundary region of a seventh intron and an eighth exon of a rice GW3p6 gene as a target, the 15-base sequence 5 '-tccttcaccaagga-3' is mutated into a sequence 5 '-agtatatacat-3' with 13 bases, and the functional marker is composed of a primer GW3p6-F and a primer GW3p6-R. According to the invention, two homozygous genotypes (wild type and mutant type) and heterozygous type of the rice gene GW3p6 can be accurately distinguished only by using a melting temperature analysis function of a conventional quantitative PCR instrument. Compared with the prior art, the detection method disclosed by the invention is low in cost, good in specificity, large in difference of melting temperatures of amplification products and capable of accurately distinguishing different genotypes.
