A method of communicating sensor data via a mobile terminal, comprising: receiving, via a non-cellular receiver, first sensor data and second sensor data from at least one wireless sensor node; determining where the second data is a duplicate of the first data; and, in response, transmitting, via a cellular transmitter, third sensor data to a server, wherein said third data is based on the first or second data. Duplicate data may be discarded, and only non-duplicate data transmitted to the server. In response to transmitting the data to the server, a terminal may receive processed data and a security key to decrypt the processed data. The server may also receive sensor data from one or more terminals and may determine if this data includes duplicates prior to processing. The sensor data may relate to a sports application, such as ice hockey tracking, and IoT application or artificial intelligence application.
