Die Erfindung betrifft ein Drehklappenventil (30) zum Führen von Gas, insbesondere zur Verwendung in einer Frischgas- oder Abgasleitung einer Wärmekraftmaschine, mit einem Gehäuse (8), das einen Gehäuseträger (8a) und mindestens eine sich an diesen anschließende gasführende Leitung (24, 25) aufweist, wobei durch das Gehäuse (8) ein gasführender Innenraum (31) gebildet ist, ferner mit einer schwenkbar im Gehäuseträger (8a) gelagerten Welle (1) und einer mit der Welle (1) verbundenen Drehklappe (2) zum Öffnen und Schließen des Kanalquerschnitts des Gehäuseträgers (8a), sowie mit einem elektromagnetischen Antrieb (32) für den gebildeten Drehklappen-Wellen-Verbund (33), wobei der Antrieb (32) mindestens einen mit dem Drehklappen-Wellen-Verbund (33) verbundenen Anker (7) und mindestens einen Elektromagneten (18 bzw. 19) aufweist. Bei einem solchen Ventil wird vorgeschlagen, dass der elektromagnetische Antrieb (32) sich zumindest teilweise im gasführenden Innenraum (31) des Gehäuses (8) befindet. Durch diese Ausbildung des Drehklappenventils wird eine geringe axiale Baulänge des Ventils sichergestellt.
