A track collision avoidance control system including a train having an onboard control system for controlling one or more characteristics of the train. The track collision avoidance control system can further include a warning indication system comprising a transmitter linked to a communication system supported about the train, the communication system comprising a receiver operable to receive a signal from the transmitter, the signal comprising information pertaining to a potentially dangerous condition. The transmitter can be operable alone or in combination with a warning indicator, an actuator and their associated logic circuitry, such that the transmitter is caused to transmit upon the warning indicator being activated. The communication system can interface with an onboard control system of the train. The communication system can receive the signal, which can be used to facilitate an avoidance action to be taken relative to the train.

An apparatus includes a capsule configured to be launched or carried towards an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The apparatus also includes a directed energy device within or carried by the capsule. The directed energy device includes a first inductor configured to generate an inductive magnetic field that is able to inductively couple into one or more electronics of the UAV in order to disable or destabilize the UAV. The capsule can be configured to be launched towards the UAV and can include a loiter mechanism (such as a rotor, umbrella, or parachute) configured to maintain a position of the capsule or to slow a descent of the capsule after launch. The capsule can also be configured to be carried towards the UAV by a different UAV, and the apparatus can further include a tether coupling the capsule to the different UAV. 1. An apparatus comprising:a capsule configured to be launched or carried towards an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV); anda directed energy device within or carried by the capsule, the directed energy device comprising a first inductor configured to generate an inductive magnetic field that is able to inductively couple into one or more electronics of the UAV in order to disable or destabilize the UAV.2. A system and method of reducing soot and/or improving the efficiency of a motor. The system and method regulates the supply of cooling oil to a cooling section of a cylinder based upon observed parameters. These parameters can include such things as engine temperature, load, rpm etc. The control can be provided by using a look up table. 1. A system for cooling a piston of an internal combustion engine having at least one cylinder that receives the piston wherein the cylinder defines a combustion region and a cooling region , wherein the internal combustion engine includes an oil supply system that supplies oil to the cooling region of the cylinder , the system comprising:one or more sensors that sense performance parameters of the internal combustion engine;an oil gating system that is controllable so that the amount of oil provided to the cooling region is adjustable;a controller that receives signals from the one or more sensors and provides control signals to the oil gating system wherein the controller determines the amount of oil to provide to the cooling region based upon the one or more sensors so that the oil provided to the cooling region of the cylinder is reduced to inhibit excess soot production.2. The system of claim 1 , wherein the controller determines the amount of oil to provide to the cooling region based upon one or more sensors so that the oil provided to the cooling region of the cylinder is reduced during periods of low load on the engine.3.
