[Also in Division B5] A footwear upper and sole, e.g. a ski boot, are integrally cast from a cold crosslinking polymer, e.g. a polyester or polyurethane, within a mould defined between an inner core and an outer mould shell. The core may comprise a last, or the foot for which the boot is intended, which may be covered before moulding with a coating, or a sock of leather. Zones of different hardness and/or colour may sequentially be cast in the mould such as the sole followed by the upper, or by tilting the mould the sole and part of the upper may comprise the same zone. The mould may be opened for the positioning therein of a reinforcement between sequential casting operations.
