The present embodiments relate to a nail coating having a major advantage in that it enables a nail coating to adhere to a natural nail or uncoated nail for long wear periods without adhesion loss or other signs of breakdown of the coating. Nail topcoats with improved abrasion resistance are also disclosed. 1. A nail coating comprising:at least one film-forming agent;at least one silicone resin; andsolvent.2. The nail coating of claim 1 , wherein the at least one film-forming agent is a cellulosic resin.3. The nail coating of claim 2 , wherein the silicon resin and cellulosic resin are combined in a ratio of silicon resin to the cellulosic resin from about 1:10 to about 1:1.4. The nail coating of claim 1 , wherein the silicon resin is a polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane.5. The nail coating of claim 2 , wherein the cellulosic resin is nitrocellulose.6. The nail coating of claim 2 , wherein the cellulosic resin is a cellulose ester.7. The nail coating of claim 2 , wherein the cellulosic resin is a cellulose acetate alkylate.8. The nail coating of claim 7 , wherein the cellulosic resin is a cellulose acetate alkylate selected from the group consisting of cellulose acetate butyrate claim 7 , cellulose acetate propionate claim 7 , and mixtures thereof.9. The nail coating of claim 1 , further comprising at least one plasticizer.10. The nail coating of claim 9 , wherein the plasticizer is an alkyl citrate.11. The nail coating of claim 9 , wherein the plasticizer is acetyl tributyl citrate.12. The nail coating of claim 9 , wherein the plasticizer is an acetylated monoglyceride.13. The nail coating of claim 1 , further comprising at least one coloring agent.14. A nail topcoat comprising:at least one film-forming agent,at least one silicone resin;at least one photoinitiator;solvent; anda component selected from at least one ethylenically unsaturated monomer, at least one urethane (meth)acrylate or a combination thereof.15. Nail coating compositions that benefit from the addition of a POSS include enamels, reactive composition such as those containing acrylates, solventless compositions and water-based compositions. 1. A nail coating comprising:at least one reactive monomer, oligomer or polymer; andat least one polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane.2. The nail coating composition of claim 1 , wherein the at least one polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane is selected from the group consisting of Glycidyl POSS Cage Mixture (EP0409); Trimethoxy-[2-(7-oxabicyclo[4.1.0]hept-3-yl)ethyl]silane claim 1 , hydrolyzed (EP0408); Hydrolyzed [3-(Trimethoxysilyl)propyl]aniline (AM0281); Acrylo POSS Cage Mixture (MA0736); [(dimethyl(norbornenylethyl)silyloxy)dihydroxy]-POSS® (NB1038); vinyl silsesquioxane resin-liquid (PM1285MV); methacrylated ethoxylated POSS; ethoxylated glycidyl POSS; or a mixture thereof.4. The nail coating composition of claim 1 , wherein the at least one polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane is Glycidyl POSS Cage Mixture (EP0409).5. The nail coating composition of claim 1 , wherein the at least one reactive monomer claim 1 , oligomer or polymer is a reactive (meth)acrylate.6.
