The present invention relates to a method for storing at least two printing plates ( 2 ) successively removed from a same plate cylinder ( 16 ) of a rotary press, each printing plate ( 2 ) having a central region ( 4 ) bearing patterns to be printed and a front edge ( 6 ) and a rear edge ( 8 ) opposite each other, the front edge being provided with a front fold ( 10 ) for fastening the printing plate ( 2 ) on the plate cylinder ( 16 ). According to the inventive method, the printing plates ( 2 ) are stacked on each other by fitting their front folds ( 10 ) into one another.
