Methods and devices for actuating a parking brake in a gearbox which is actuated in an automated manner, whereby gear changes are carried out using at least one electrically driven actuator, gear positions can be selected by using a selector device, and the parking brake can be activated by using the selector device when the vehicle is stationary or moving slowly. A vehicle provided with an additional gearbox. An ignition key can only be removed, when the gearbox is in a P state and the additional gearbox is not in the N state. A further method and device, whereby the additional gearbox can only be shifted in the N state when the gearbox is not in the P state. Further methods and a device in which automated manual gearboxes, especially parallel gearboxes, are controlled in such a way that the vehicle can be safely parked.

It is known fact that said images are processed in such a way that the danger potential for the motor vehicle posed by an obstacle in the surroundings is visualized optically by or highlighted for the driver. According to the invention, the image provided by the camera device is processed taking into account the position of the obstacle in the image in order to highlight said danger potential in an even clearer manner for the driver. To this end, the actual position of the obstacle in the surroundings of the motor vehicle is initially determined. The position of the obstacle in the image corresponding to the actual position of the obstacle in the surroundings is subsequently determined.

The invention relates to a steering angle sensor system with enhanced redundancy in order to increase faultlessness in measured results. In order to meet the safety requirements of steer by wire or other vehicle adjustment systems with regard to steering angle measurement data, several sensors (3, 4, 12) are operated in parallel and measurement data provided by a second fault-free sensor is evaluated if a first sensor is found to be faulty. Advantageous embodiments of the invention involve allocation of several sensor heads to a code track, the use of various physical measurement procedures within the same sensor system and the use of said sensors with a varying degree of measurement accuracy.
