An aircraft ejection seat controller (fig.3,302) has a computer-readable storage containing instructions causing a processor to determine a speed and an altitude, and command simultaneous deployment, within 150ms of one another, of a drogue parachute 210 and a main parachute 220 upon separation of the ejection seat 14 from the aircraft (fig.1,12). The speed may be that of the aircraft or the ejector seat. The processor may determine that the aircraft or ejection seat are within a zone having a speed range between 13-154ms-1, and altitude range up to 6096m, which may be based on data from two dynamic pressure sensors (fig.3,306,308). The drogue parachute may be deployed prior to the main parachute, a delayed separation or severing of the drogue after 100-400ms may be commanded, and then the main parachute deployed.
