A programmable control circuit operates both the ozone reactor and a pump for directing ambient air to the ozone reactor. The amine group of the endcap is directly reacted with a desired chemical backbone to provide the preferred rigidity and chemical resistance. The ability of the amine group to react with a wide variety of chemical backbones allows the tailoring of formulations for various application temperatures, mechanical properties, processes and resistances while retaining the high degree of crosslinking that yields excellent temperature stability, ease of processing and the necessary toughness. Polyimide oligomers comprising the reaction product of at least one dinadic phenyl amine endcap monomer and a chemical backbone, preferably with a molecular weight not exceeding about 1000-3000, suitable for high temperature composites are described. Production from certain cultured micro-organisms (like ) promotes synthesis of EPA, including polar lipids including EPA. The EPA-rich polar lipids themselves may be used as polar compounds. EPA can be selectively hydrolyzed from particular positions in isolated polar lipids by lipase activity, then optionally further purified. Apparatus and methods for providing a pre-determined axial thrust force profile for use in a rotating machine that includes a magnetically permeable rotor with first and second surfaces and a generally perpendicular shaft is disclosed. One or more bearings support the shaft and a coil induces flux in the rotor. First and second pole pieces disposed adjacent to the first and second surfaces define first and second gaps. A series magnetic circuit including the pole pieces, the gaps and the rotor carries flux generated by current flowing in the coil. Pole pieces and gaps provide substantially similar reluctance in both gaps. PRODUCTION OF ULTRAPURE EPA AND POLAR LIPIDS FROM LARGELY HETEROTROPHIC CULTURE

Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) compositions and EPA-rich polar lipids for prophylactic or therapeutic applications are described. Production from certain cultured micro-organisms (like ) promotes synthesis of EPA, including polar lipids including EPA. The EPA-rich polar lipids themselves may be used as polar compounds. EPA can be selectively hydrolyzed from particular positions in isolated polar lipids by lipase activity, then optionally further purified. The process bypasses reliance on diminishing fish stocks and on physico-chemical processes that may not adequately separate desirable n-3 HUFAs from unwanted products like DHA also found in fish oil and cultured organisms. 1. A micro-organism biomass comprising fatty acids , wherein at least 20% of the total fatty acids is EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) , more than 30% of the total fatty acids are fatty acids contained in polar lipids and more than 50% of the EPA is contained in the polar lipids.2. A first layer is built from the composite tape in the multiaxial machine, and a second layer is built from the composite tape on the first layer at a predetermined angle from the first layer in the multiaxial machine.
