A tubing assembly for electronic catheter guidance systems is provided and can include a catheter, an internal acoustic transducer and an external acoustic transducer. The catheter extends in a longitudinal direction and has proximal and distal ends that define a lumen therebetween. Further, the catheter is configured for placement within a patient's digestive or respiratory tract. The internal acoustic transducer can be located within the catheter's lumen, and the external acoustic transducer can be located on or outside the patient's body. The transducers can transmit and/or receive acoustic signals as directed by a processor and communicate with the processor to deliver sound data to a display device. The frequency response and/or attenuation of the signals can indicate placement of the catheter in the digestive tract compared to the respiratory tract. A catheter guidance system and method for accurately placing a catheter in the digestive or respiratory tract are also provided. 1. A tubing assembly comprising:a catheter having a proximal end and a distal end and extending in a longitudinal direction, wherein the proximal end and the distal end define a lumen therebetween, and wherein the catheter is configured for placement within a digestive tract of a patient; andan internal acoustic transducer.2. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) compositions and EPA-rich polar lipids for prophylactic or therapeutic applications are described. Production from certain cultured micro-organisms (like ) promotes synthesis of EPA, including polar lipids including EPA. The EPA-rich polar lipids themselves may be used as polar compounds. The present invention relates to a continuous, carbon fiber with nanoscale features comprising carbon and carbon nanotubes, wherein the nanotubes are substantially aligned along a longitudinal axis of the fiber. Also provided is a polyacrylonitrile (PAN) precursor including about 50% to about 99.9% by weight of a melt-spinnable PAN and about 0.01% to about 10% of carbon nanotubes. Other precursor materials such as polyphenylene sulfide, pitch and solution-spinnable PAN are also provided. The precursor can also include a fugitive polymer which is dissociable from the precursor polymer.

An apparatus and method for measuring and machining the roundness and concentricity of an outer surface of a roll having oppositely disposed ends (20) spaced along a longitudinal axis. The apparatus includes a plurality of spaced roll supports (28,29) for rotatably supporting the outer surface, and one or more drive wheels (36) to rotate the roll about its longitudinal axis. An axial strut is provided for limiting the axial movement of the roll during rotation, and a pair of locators (45,46) are individually mounted adjacent each of the ends of the roll and establish a reference line along the roll. A plurality of displacement monitoring devices (52) simultaneously measure variations in the contour of the outer surface and movement of the reference line as the roll is rotated. The apparatus is further designed to determine the true axis of rotation of the roll, whereby a profile of the roll can be obtained by comparing roundness measurements taken at any point along the longitudinal axis to the true axis of rotation. A preferred embodiment includes an electrical discharge machining device (87) which can utilize roundness and concentricity measurements to optimize the machining of the outer surface.

A control (27) is disclosed which may be used as an automotive drive control for a variable displacement hydrostatic pump (11). The pump displacement is controlled by servos (37, 39) by control pressure from a charge pump (21). As a pedal (P) of a vehicle engine (E) is depressed, an increasing pressure differential across a fixed orifice (79) moves a control spool (73) to port control fluid to a first servo port (A). If engine speed becomes excessive, or in response to an external pressure signal (121) representing another vehicle condition, the control spool (73) is moved to a position (FIG. 5) in which control pressure is ported to a second servo port (B), thus positively reducing the displacement of the pump (11).

In combination with an engine compartment including an engine, a hood, and at least two front quarter panel side walls defining an interior engine compartment, an engine compartment cooling system includes a clear hole made in at least one of the side walls positioned between a passenger compartment and a forward portion of a fender wheel well. At least one axial fan assembly has a fan housing, a plurality of fan blades, a motor shaft, and a fan motor. The fan assembly is mounted in the clear hole. A fan motor controller is connected to the fan motor, and a heated air flow path, which originates from the engine, is exhausted outwardly through the fan assembly into an ambient air flow for cooling of the engine compartment.

A heated air flow path originates from the engine compartment and is exhausted outwardly through the fan assembly into an ambient air flow for cooling of the engine compartment.
