Technologies are generally described for generating depth data based on a spatial light pattern. In some examples, a method of generating depth data includes obtaining an image of one or more objects on which a spatial light pattern is projected, wherein blurring of the spatial light pattern in the image monotonously increases or decreases in a depth direction, calculating a value of a spatial frequency component of the image in a local image area around a pixel of interest, and determining depth data corresponding to the calculated value of the spatial frequency component by utilizing a preset relationship between depths and values of the spatial frequency component. 1. A method to transmit image data for a stereoscopic view , the method comprising:receiving, by a depth data generating unit, an image of one or more objects, wherein the image is a two-dimensional image with a superimposed spatial light pattern;generating, by the depth data generating unit, depth data associated with the image, wherein the depth data is based on at least a degree of blur of the spatial light pattern in a depth direction; andproviding, by the depth data generating unit, the image together with the depth data to enable a stereoscopic view of the image.2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the superimposed spatial light pattern is projected on the one or more objects during capture of the two-dimensional image.3. The method of claim 1 , wherein the superimposed spatial light pattern is a checkboard pattern.4. The method of claim 3 , wherein the checkboard pattern includes black square areas and white square areas arranged alternately both in the vertical direction and in the horizontal direction.5. An optical device and a display apparatus of the present invention are constructed so as to improve display characteristics of output light intensity, display contrast, and reduction of scattered light due to external light, and also to provide a large-screen. The optical device has a first stacked body and a plurality of second stacked bodies. The first stacked body includes a light guide, a fist electrode, and an optical control layer. The second stacked body includes a plurality of second electrodes, the reflection film and a substrate. A plurality of third electrodes are provided through the substrate. Each of the third electrode has a first end part connecting to the second electrode and a second end part exposed to the other side of the substrate. A further light absorption film may be disposed between the reflection film and the second electrode.

A videocamera is disposed diagonally to the front of a display and the image of a subject is reflected toward the videocamera by a half-transparent mirror placed in front of the screen of the display. The half-transparent mirror has in its front inclined strip-like micro reflective surfaces and inclined strip-like micro transparent surfaces which emit therethrough incident light from the display screen.
