The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a product which is at least partially transparent and which has a high optical quality which can be compared to that of glazing, wherein a correspondingly shaped thermally insulating sheet is placed in a part of a mould, at least in the bottom of the mould, then a thermoplastic material which can become joined with the sheet in the above-mentioned product is injected into said mould. The method is characterized in that the part of the mould whose bottom is provided with the sheet is kept at a temperature which is lower than that which is necessary to produce the required optical quality in the absence of said sheet. The invention also relates to the product thus obtained, to the use thereof as glazing, and to glazing for a motor vehicle thus obtained.
