The measurement and regulation of the steam content in the drying medium is pref. achieved by using a psychrometer in the circulating air employed in the first drying stage, and a pref. fibre or textile is rayon. In this variation of the dry fixing process, a subsequent thermofixing treatment e.g. of 1 minute at 150 degrees C., can be eliminated, and it is no longer necessary to add urea to the foulard treatment bath. Moreover, the colour rendition on rayon is much better than in the usual dry fixing process.
