A wireless personal audio equipment arrangement comprises a hat or cap 10, a control circuit 20 including a microwave link receiver (e.g. a Bluetooth receiver) carried by the hat. The control circuit 20 outputs audio signals to speakers 26 whence acoustic chambers, , conduits or tubes 38, 40 conduct sound signals produced by the speakers to earpieces 42 carried by the hat. The body of the cap includes RF shielding material e.g. a Mylar layer sewn into the lining of the hat. The circuit board that carries the control unit 20 also includes RF shielding. Control switches 30 are placed on the brim or peak of the hat or cap; and the equipment is powered by batteries held at the rear of the hat or cap (34, fig 4). The equipment allows the wearer to interact with portable audio devices, e.g. CD players, MP3 players or MP4 players. It will also allow the wearer to make handsfree mobile phone calls.

A personal audio device, preferably built into a pair of sunglasses, comprises a first speaker housing 10 having a speaker 12 associated therewith, and a second speaker housing 18 having a speaker 20 associated therewith. Head set

A headset comprises a pair of speakers 10 physically interconnected with one another by a mechanical link 12, and a wireless receiver 16 carried by the link 12, such as a Bluetooth (RTM) receiver. Signals received at the receiver are transmitted separately to each one of the pair of speakers by optical means 22a, 24 which in an embodiment appear to be freespace optocouplers for providing electrical isolation between the receiver and the speakers. The optical signals may be transmitted by infrared LEDs 22a. The invention reduces a users exposure to RF radiation which may be hazardous to health. Embodiments relate to performing inference, such as object recognition, based on sensory inputs received from sensors and location information associated with the sensory inputs. The sensory inputs describe one or more features of the objects. The location information describes known or potential locations of the sensors generating the sensory inputs. An inference system learns representations of objects by characterizing a plurality of feature-location representations of the objects, and then performs inference by identifying or updating candidate objects consistent with feature-location representations observed from the sensory input data and location information. In one instance, the inference system learns representations of objects for each sensor. The set of candidate objects for each sensor is updated to those consistent with candidate objects for other sensors, as well as the observed feature-location representations for the sensor.
