Hand tool aid

A hand tool aid comprises a resilient member 2, means 7 to attach said member to a hand tool 1 and means 3,6,8 to attach said member to the lower arm or wrist of a user of said hand tool. A method of using the hand tool aid is also provided. Preferably, the resilient member 2 can exert a force between the user's wrist or lower arm and the tool 1 to aid use of the tool and reduce fatigue. The hand tool is preferably a hammer. The resilient member 2 may be a spring (as shown) or a length of elastic cord.

The aid includes a resistant material B, C to exert pressure between a user's fingers R and palm S to allow the user to reduce their grip on the tool. The tool Q may be a hammer, screwdriver or other tool. The resistant material may include springs located underneath. The resistant material may be a flexible rubber phase change material such as sodium acetate trihydrate which may increase in temperature from 10 to 30 degrees C once gripped. The aid may be used in a method of using a hand tool such that the phase change material releases heat energy to a user's fingers, palm or hand whilst resistant members exert a comfortable resistant. This aids the use of the tool by user's whose hands may require warmth e.g. those with arthritis, brittle bone joints, cold weather fatigue or hand muscle problems.
