Method for Implementing a High-Level Image Representation for Image Analysis

Номер: US20170220864A1

Robust low-level image features have been proven to be effective representations for a variety of visual recognition tasks such as object recognition and scene classification; but pixels, or even local image patches, carry little semantic meanings. For high-level visual tasks, such low-level image representations are potentially not enough. The present invention provides a high-level image representation where an image is represented as a scale-invariant response map of a large number of pre-trained generic object detectors, blind to the testing dataset or visual task. Leveraging on this representation, superior performances on high-level visual recognition tasks are achieved with relatively classifiers such as logistic regression and linear SVM classifiers.

Shortening just-in-time code warm up time of docker containers

Номер: US20200065124A1
Принадлежит: International Business Machines Corp

According to one or more embodiments of the present invention, a computer-implemented method for shortening just-in-time compilation time includes creating a first container for executing a first computer program, the execution comprising generating, using a just-in-time compiler, a compiled code for a first code-portion of the first computer program. The method further includes storing the compiled code for the first code-portion in a code-share store. The method further includes creating a second container for executing a second computer program comprising a second code-portion. The method further includes determining that the second code-portion matches the first code-portion, and in response retrieving the compiled code from the code-share store for executing the second computer program.

Data records may be managed in a relational database by monitoring, a record length for a first data record in a page of memory, an amount of free space in the page, and a page length. In response to receiving an operator command to replace the first data record with a second data record, a database management system may determine whether an estimated record length of a compressed second data record is outside of the amount of free space in the page. In response to determining the estimated record length of a compressed second data record is outside of the amount of free space in the page, the database management system may determine whether an estimated length of a compressed page is outside of the page length. In response to determining the estimated length of a compressed page is within the page length, the page may be compressed. 1 'wherein each respective page of memory comprises a respective page header storing metadata therein, the metadata comprising a table row directory indicating a respective starting address and a respective identifier for each respective data record in the respective page of memory;', 'monitoring, by a processor, a record length for a first data record of the relational database stored in a first page of memory, a first amount of free space in the first page of memory, and a first page length of the first page of memory, wherein, for each respective page of memory, a respective amount of free space includes reserved space and unused space;'}receiving an update structured query language (SQL) command to replace the first data record with a second data record in the relational database; 'wherein to estimate a record length statistics are generated for the compressed second data record, the statistics including a number of records scanned to build a dictionary to perform compression, an average record length before compression, and an average record length after compression;', 'determining, by the processor, based upon receiving the update ...
