A composition comprising a polymer of isobutylene with a minimum content of 80 per cent of isobutylene, preferably of molecular weight 30,000 to 300,000, and at least 30 per cent of a silicate filler based on the total mixture is used as a sealing profile for expansion joints of structures, particularly of concrete or reinforced concrete. Copolymers of isobutylene with 0.5 to 20 per cent of butadiene, isoprene, pentadiene - 1,3, 1,3 - trimethylbutadiene - 1,3, hexadiene-1,3, 2-chlorobutadiene, cyclopentadiene, styrene, a -methyl styrene, vinyl ethers and dimethyl and diethyl fumarates, may be used. Suitable fillers are dispersed silicic acid, silica gel, siliceous chalk, kieselguhr, infusorial earth, feldspar, kaolin, bole, bentonite, asbestos, steatite, talc, cement, glass powder and shale or pumice powders. In order to measure the speed or distance the tracked vehicle has travelled, a marker is arranged at the beginning of the stretch which is registered by the vehicle. From this marker, up to the destination, and along the entire length of the track which is radiated by the antenna on the vehicle, and from which the preponderant share of the reflected Doppler signal comes, a material is laid which gives rise to a symmetrical reflection of the radar system signal transmitted from the vehicle. In this way, deviations caused by unevenness of the surface are avoided, guaranteeing an exact measurement of distance due to there being no gaps in the reflected signal. This method also enables very low vehicle speeds to be measure accurately.
