High performance flow batteries, based on alkaline zinc/ferro-ferricyanide rechargeable (“ZnFe”) and similar flow batteries, may include one or more of the following improvements. First, the battery design has a cell stack comprising a low resistance positive electrode in at least one positive half cell and a low resistance negative electrode in at least one negative half cell, where the positive electrode and negative electrode resistances are selected for uniform high current density across a region of the cell stack. Second, a flow of electrolyte, such as zinc species in the ZnFe battery, with a high level of mixing through at least one negative half cell in a Zn deposition region proximate a deposition surface where the electrolyte close to the deposition surface has sufficiently high zinc concentration for deposition rates on the deposition surface that sustain the uniform high current density. The mixing in the flow may be induced by structures such as: conductive and non-conductive meshes; screens; ribbons; foam structures; arrays of cones, cylinders, or pyramids; and other arrangements of wires or tubes used solely or in combination with a planar electrode surface. Third, the zinc electrolyte has a high concentration and in some embodiments has a concentration greater than the equilibrium saturation concentration—the zinc electrolyte is super-saturated with Zn ions. 1. Metal silicates or phosphates are deposited on a heated substrate by the reaction of vapors of alkoxysilanols or alkylphosphates along with reactive metal amides, alkyls or alkoxides. An interconnect structure for integrated circuits for copper wires in integrated circuits and methods for making the same are provided. Mn, Cr, or V containing layer forms a barrier against copper diffusing out of the wires, thereby protecting the insulator from premature breakdown, and protecting transistors from degradation by copper. The Mn, Cr, or V containing layer also promotes strong adhesion between copper and insulators, thus preserving the mechanical integrity of the devices during manufacture and use, as well as protecting against failure by electromigration of the copper during use of the devices and protecting the copper from corrosion by oxygen or water from its surroundings. In forming such integrated circuits, certain embodiments of the invention provide methods to selectively deposit Mn, Cr, V, or Co on the copper surfaces while reducing or even preventing deposition of Mn, Cr, V, or Co on insulator surfaces. The present invention provides a method of installing a conveyor belt in an underground mine comprising the steps of installing a monorail in the mine, mounting at least two conveyor belt cradles on said monorail, coupling at least two of the conveyor belt cradles by a chain of predetermined length, coupling a conveyor belt to said conveyor belt cradles, coupling at least one conveyor belt cradle to an end roller, and moving the end roller to a predetermined point in the mine, wherein said moving the end roller pulls the conveyor belt cradles apart by the predetermined length, positioning the cradles in a desired location in the mine. 1. A method of installing a conveyor belt in an underground mine comprising:installing a monorail in the mine;mounting at least two conveyor belt cradles on said monorail;coupling at least two of the conveyor belt cradles by a chain of predetermined length;coupling a conveyor belt to said conveyor belt cradles;coupling at least one conveyor belt cradle to an end roller;moving the end roller to a predetermined point in the mine;wherein said moving the end roller pulls the conveyor belt cradles apart by the predetermined length, positioning the cradles in a desired location in the mine; andwherein the said end roller is coupled to a feeder/crusher.2. A method as claimed in wherein said monorail is installed on the ceiling of the mine.3. The respirator includes a mask structure comprising one or more layers, multiple folds, and a contact surface region, and the one or more layers include a filtration layer. Meanwhile, the respirator includes an attachment mechanism coupled to the mask structure. The attachment mechanism is operable to couple the mask structure to a face region of a user. The user has a maxilla bone having a first frontal process and a second frontal process, and when the mask structure is coupled to the face region of the user by the attachment mechanism, the multiple folds conform the contact surface region to the face region of the user over the first frontal process of the maxilla bone and over the second frontal process of the maxilla bone. Metal silicates or phosphates are deposited on a heated substrate by the reaction of vapors of alkoxysilanols or alkylphosphates along with reactive metal amides, alkyls or alkoxides. This disclosure relates to tertiary amine solutions of metal precursors used for chemical vapor deposition or atomic layer deposition. The tertiary amine solutions have many advantages. They dissolve high concentrations of non-polar precursors without reacting with them. An AUV is described that includes an external, deployable payload releasably attached to the exterior of the AUV. The release mechanism between the payload and the AUV is relatively simple and low cost. The payload is mounted external to the AUVs hull and does not significantly increase the cost of the AUV to which it is attached. There are no complex release mechanisms or intermediate launch systems attached to the AUV. Therefore, the described AUV can deploy payloads, such as sensors, that would normally be deployed from a manned platform. This can increase the payload capability of a small expendable AUV without increasing volume or cost of the AUV. 1. Reaction of cobalt(II) bis(bicyclic amidinate) vapor, ammonia gas and hydrogen gas deposits cobalt metal films on heated substrates, while reaction with ammonia produces cobalt nitride and reaction with water vapor produces cobalt oxide. Ruthenium metal films are deposited by reaction of ruthenium(II) bis(bicyclic amidinate) or ruthenium(III) tris(bicyclic amidinate) at a heated surface either with or without a co-reactant such as hydrogen gas or ammonia or oxygen. Suitable applications include electrical interconnects in microelectronics and magnetoresistant layers in magnetic information storage devices. This disclosure relates to device for providing continuous negative abdominal pressure (CNAP) which selectively recruits (inflates) the dorsal (spinal region) collapsed areas of the lung, while enabling the patient to remain in the supine (usual) position. The CNAP device includes a rigid frame configured to have a shape and size to envelop a patient's lower chest and abdominal area while in a supine position with the frame having opposed edges which sit on a surface on which the supine patient is resting. A series of panels are mounted in the frame such that the series of panels extend around the patient's lower chest and abdominal area. A flexible sheet wrapped around the outside of the panels and is long enough to extend up to the patient's upper chest and down to the patients thighs and wide enough to envelop the supine patient's lower chest and abdominal area. Medical diagnostic devices or components thereof are described that comprise a microstructured surface that comprises peak structures and adjacent valleys wherein the valleys have a maximum width ranging from 1 to 1000 microns and the peak structures. In some embodiments (e.g. for improved cleanability) the peak structures of the microstructured surface have a side wall angle of greater than 10 degrees. The peak structures may comprise two or more facets such as in the case of a linear array of prisms or an array of cube-comers elements. The microstmctured surface of the medical diagnostic device typically comes in contact with multiple patients during normal use of the device, such as a stethoscope diaphragm. The microstmctured surface exhibits better microorganism (e.g. bacteria) removal when cleaned and/or provides a reduction in microbial touch transfer. For improved cleanability, the valleys preferably have a maximum width ranging from 10 microns to 250 microns and the peak structures have a side wall angle greater than 10 degrees. Systems and methods are disclosed for measuring fluid pressure in an ophthalmic surgical system. An example system comprises a fluid flow path and a pressure sensor system for measuring pressure in the fluid flow path. The pressure sensor system comprises a conductive, movable diaphragm having a first side and a second side, the first side of the diaphragm facing the fluid flow path, and an eddy current position sensor positioned on the second side of the diaphragm without contacting the diaphragm. The eddy current position sensor comprises a position sensor coil activatable by high frequency alternating current and signal conditioning electronics capable of sensing inductance or impedance or resonant frequency variation in the position sensor coil as a gap between the diaphragm and the position sensor coil changes and of translating that variation into a displacement signal correlated to fluid pressure. A method of measuring fluid pressure may be performed using one or more of the systems described herein.

Systems and methods are disclosed for monitoring for an occlusion in an aspiration line during an ophthalmic surgical procedure. An ophthalmic surgical system may comprise a first aspiration pump located in a handpiece, a second aspiration pump located away from the handpiece such as in a console, and a pressure sensor located between the first aspiration pump and the second aspiration pump. The pressure sensor is adapted to monitor for an occlusion in the aspiration line upstream of the first aspiration pump. The second aspiration pump may be operated at the same flow rate as the first aspiration pump and/or to maintain a constant pressure between the second aspiration pump and the first aspiration pump. Systems and methods as disclosed allow for a handpiece pump located close to the working tip while providing reliable occlusion detection with a pressure sensor located away from the handpiece.
