Method and system for optimizing live migration of persistent data of virtual machine using disk i/o heuristics

Techniques for migrating persistent data between and across data stores are implemented using monitoring methods. The method includes classifying frequently updated blocks of persistent data to distinguish those blocks from less frequently updated blocks of persistent data. The less frequently updated blocks are copied from the source data store to the destination data store, such that persistent data is copied to the destination data store in the absence of the persistent data of the frequently updated blocks. The method further includes identifying a modified set of the less frequently updated blocks that are modified during the copying. The modified set of less frequently updated blocks is copied from the source data store to the destination data store, without copying the frequently updated blocks. It is then determined whether to copy the frequently updated blocks of persistent data from the source data store to the destination data store.

The start-up circuit, after being powered on, provides an initial bias current for the operational amplifier in the bandgap core circuit. The pre-regulator circuit provides a pre-regulated voltage for the bandgap reference core. A comparator judges the output state of the bandgap core circuit and selects, using a switch circuit, either the bandgap core circuit output VBG or the power supply partial voltage as the reference voltage of the pre-regulator circuit. Use of the pre regulator may increase the power supply rejection ratio of the bandgap reference voltage source.

In response to receiving indication of the VM disk being imported from the portable storage device locally within a destination data center, the host computer determines VM data within the source data center is different from or not included within the exported copy of the VM disk and transmits the VM data to the destination data center via a network connection while the VM continues running. An indication that the virtual machine data within the destination data center is within a threshold of similarity with virtual machine data within the source data center is transmitted to the destination data center via the network connection.

The invention discloses a prefetch-adaptive intelligent cache replacement policy for high performance, in the presence of hardware prefetching, a prefetch request and a demand request are distinguished, a prefetch predictor based on an ISVM (Integer Support Vector Machine) is used for carrying out re-reference interval prediction on a cache line of prefetching access loading, and a demand predictor based on an ISVM is utilized to carry out re-reference interval prediction on a cache line of demand access loading. A PC of a current access load instruction and PCs of past load instructions in an access historical record are input, different ISVM predictors are designed for prefetch and demand requests, reuse prediction is performed on a loaded cache line by taking a request type as granularity, the accuracy of cache line reuse prediction in the presence of prefetching is improved, and performance benefits from hardware prefetching and cache replacement is better fused.
