PURPOSE: To obtain the subject compounds useful as a raw material for adamantyl acrylate or methacrylate in good yield at a low cost in one-stage reaction by reacting adamantane with a carbonium cation-forming compound and an organic nitrile compound in concentrated sulfuric acid. CONSTITUTION: Adamantane which may have ≤3 alkyl substituent groups is reacted with a carbonium cation-forming compound (especially preferably tert- butyl alcohol, isobutene, etc.) and an organic nitrile compound (e.g., acetonitrile or benzonitrile) in concentrated sulfuric acid to add hydroxyl groups to the tertiary carbon atom in the adamantane skeleton. The resultant hydroxy adduct is then isolated to afford adamantyl alcohol. The reaction is preferably carried out at 25-35°C by using a solvent, such as n-hexane, and the carbonium cation- forming compound in an amount of 1-4mol based on 1mol adamantanes and the organic nitrile compound in an amount of 4-10mol based on 1mol adamantanes. (57)【要約】 【課題】 従来の減圧式鋳造法に用いる入子は減圧時の キャビティの気密性を高める為に密閉性の高い勘合を持 ちいている。しかし、気密性が高い分、減圧機構のレベ ルが低く減圧率が低い場合は排気性が悪く、逆に巻込み の多い製品となってしまうことが多々見られた。 【解決手段】 金型との勘合面でのシール部をキャビテ ィ側と金型背面側の2ヶ所とし、その間に空間を設けた 形状の入子構造とする。キャビティ側のシール部をガス は通過するが溶湯の通過を防止するギャップ量とし、金 型背面側のギャップ量をガスの通過を防止するギャップ 量として勘合させる。これにより減圧時は金型背面側の シール部により気密性を、溶湯充填時はキャビティ側の シール部により残留ガスを排出し、且つバリの発生を防 ぐことが可能となる。
