The catheter has a first and a second lumen, the first lumen being distally provided with an aspiration opening and the second lumen having a smaller cross section than the first lumen and extending coaxially in the distal region of the first lumen. The second lumen is provided with a lateral as well as a distally located opening, the lateral opening reaching through the wall of the catheter.
