Die Wärme des Prozeßgases wird am Außenumfang der Rohre (30) an ein fluides Kühlmedium, z.B. Luft abgegeben, die an dem Einlaß (17) in das Gehäuse (1) eintritt und an dem Auslaß (24) wieder austritt. Die höchsten Temperaturen an den Rohren (30) finden sich im Bereich des unteren Rohrbodens, der aus diesem Grund als siedewassergekühlter Doppelrohrboden (10) ausgebildet ist.
