The system can include a portable scanning device to scan machine-readable elements included on labels at a first and second location. The portable scanning device can detect the acceleration and the cumulative change between the first and second location. A storage capacity estimation and action identification system , comprising:an array of microphones disposed in an area of a facility that includes a plurality of storage units, the microphones being configured to detect sounds in the area and to detect reflections of the sounds from at least one of the plurality of storage units, the microphones being configured to output time varying electrical signals upon detection of the arbitrary sounds and the reflections; anda computing system operatively coupled to the array of microphones, the computing system programmed to:receive the time varying electrical signals associated with the arbitrary sounds and the reflections;determine which of the arbitrary sounds correspond to each of the reflections; andestimate an available capacity of the at least one storage unit based on a relationship of the arbitrary sounds to the reflections corresponding to the sounds.2. The system in claim 1 , wherein the microphones are further configured to detect intensities of the sounds and the reflections of the sounds and encode the intensities of the sounds and the reflections of the sounds in the time varying electrical signals.3. Described in detail herein are methods and systems for dynamic projection. The dynamic projection system includes a projector configured to project a first set of information associated with a set of like physical objects onto a front portion of a shelving unit. The first set of information includes an image of a machine-readable element encoded with an identifier associated with the set of like physical objects. An optical scanner can scan and decode the identifier from the image of the machine-readable element. The optical scanner can transmit the identifier or location of the scanner to a computing system The computing system can further control an output of the projector to dynamically project the second set of information associated with the set of like physical objects onto the front portion of the shelving unit receiving the identifier or location of the optical scanner. 1. A dynamic projection system comprising:a projector configured to project a first set of information associated with a set of like physical objects onto a front portion of a shelving unit, wherein the first set of information includes an image of a machine-readable element encoded with an identifier associated with the set of like physical objectsan optical scanner configured to scan the image of the machine-readable element and decode the identifier from the machine-readable element; anda computing system communicatively coupled to the projector and the optical scanner, the computing system programmed to: query a database using the identifier to retrieve a second set of information associated with the set of like physical objects; and control an output of the projector to dynamically project the second set of information associated with the set of like physical objects onto the front portion of the shelving unit in place of the first set of information associated with the set of like physical objects in response to the optical scanner scanning the image of the machine-readable element.2. ...
