The syringe stopper of claim 1 , wherein said densified expanded fluoropolymer is densified expanded polytetrafluoroethylene.3. The syringe stopper of claim 1 , wherein said elastomeric body is comprised of a rubber constructed of butyl claim 1 , bromobutyl claim 1 , chlorobutyl claim 1 , silicone claim 1 , nitrile claim 1 , styrene butadiene claim 1 , polychloroprene claim 1 , ethylene propylene diene claim 1 , fluoroelastomers and blends thereof.4. The syringe stopper of claim 1 , wherein said densified expanded fluoropolymer has a thickness from 0.5 microns to 20 microns.5. The syringe contains a silicone free barrel and an elastomeric syringe stopper that is covered with an expanded polytetrafluoroethylene barrier layer.
