Номер: CN103376870A
Принадлежит:

The invention relates to methods, systems, and apparatus for determining whether an accessory includes particular circuitry. A host device may measure a first voltage and a second voltage received from an accessory, where the voltages are provide through the accessory from a power source. Before measuring the second voltage, the host device may send an instruction to the accessory instructing the accessory to alter an impedance of the power path between the power source and the host device, and the host device may draw at least a threshold amount of current from the power source via the accessory. The host device may then determine whether the accessory includes particular circuitry based on the relationship between the first voltage and the second voltage.

The invention relates to methods, systems and apparatus for enabling an accessory for use with a host device. Methods, systems, and apparatus for enabling a power path between a power source and a host device via an accessory are provided. A host device may send, to an accessory arranged within the power path, via a first data pin arranged in the host device, a request for an accessory identifier. The accessory identifier identifies the accessory. The host device may then determine whether the accessory identifier is received from the accessory within a specified period of time or whether a received accessory identifier is valid. If the accessory identifier is not received from the accessory within the specified period of time, or a received accessory identifier is not valid, the host device sends a new request for the accessory identifier to the accessory via a second data pin different than the first data pin.

Techniques for detecting removal of a connector

Номер: CN103424661A
Принадлежит:

The disclosure relates to techniques for detecting removal of a connector. A system that detects electrical disconnection of one connector from another connector includes a detection circuitry and a protection circuitry. The detection circuitry detects that a plug connector has been electrically disconnected from a corresponding receptacle connector. In response to the detection, the detection circuitry sends a signal to the protection circuitry. In response to the signal, the protection circuitry lowers or terminates power being supplied to a host device via one of the contacts of the plug connector. This helps to prevent shocks/short circuits that may be caused by accidental disconnection of the plug connector.

This power-management unit allows a common signal line to communicate data between an integrated circuit (which may be external to the power-management unit) and a battery-monitoring mechanism in a battery pack, and to convey a signal that represents a temperature state of the battery pack to a temperature-monitoring circuit or mechanism that monitors the temperature state of the battery pack. In particular, the power-management unit may include a single-wire interface or a multiplexer that, at a given time, selectively couples the signal line from the battery pack either to the integrated circuit or the temperature-monitoring circuit based on a control signal provided by the integrated circuit (for example, via an I2C bus or interface). In this way, the power-management unit may reduce the number of signal lines needed to communicate with the battery-monitoring mechanism and to convey the signal.

In a solid-state lithium-metal/sulfur-based battery cell, barriers to sulfur and polysulfide diffusion are included in or used as an ionically conductive electrolyte in the cathode or separator layers. A power-management unit is described.

Communication and monitoring of a battery via a single wire

A power-management unit is described.

Printed circuit board with compact groups of devices

Номер: WO2014051848A1
Принадлежит: Apple Inc.

Electronic devices may contain electrical systems in which electrical components are mounted on a substrate such as a printed circuit board. The electrical components may include surface mount technology components. Multiple surface mount technology components may be stacked on top of each other and beside each other to form an electrical component that minimizes the amount of area that is consumed on a printed circuit board. Noise suppression circuits and other circuits may be implemented using stacked surface mount technology components. Surface mount technology components placed on the printed circuit board may be pushed together and subsequently injection molded to form packed component groups. An integrated circuit may be mounted to the printed circuit board via an interposer and may cover components mounted to the printed circuit board. An integrated circuit may be mounted over a recessed portion of the printed circuit board on which components are mounted.

A system can use a video analytic algorithm and/or other input parameters to identify an event (e.g., theft). For example, the security system can use video analytics to determine that a person has reached into a shelf multiple times at a rate above a threshold, which can indicate that a thief is quickly removing items from the shelf. The system can include a VR viewer to provide virtual reality viewing of the area where an event was identified. The system can use Lidar for identifying events and/or for monitoring an area.
