A system, method and apparatus is provided for optimizing network data communications. At an extender device, a data signal is received at a host link port across a data cable that is interfaced with the host link port. The host link port is configured to receive the data signal. The data cable is configured to carry management communications and data communications between a switch host device and the extender unit device. The data signal is split into data signal components. Each of the data signal components comprises a ten gigabit per second portion of the data signal. Polynucleotides such as DNA are stored inside vesicles formed from self-assembling membranes. The vesicles may be protocells, liposomes, micelles, colloidosomes, proteinosomes, or coacervates. The vesicles may include surface functionalization to improve polynucleotide encapsulation and/or to bind polynucleotides having specific sequences. Encapsulation in vesicles provides protection for the polynucleotides. Additional protection is provided by addition of one or more stabilizers. The stabilizer may be nucleic-acid stabilizers that stabilize the polynucleotides or may be a protective structural layer around the vesicles such as a layer of silica. A process for stably storing polynucleotides in vesicles and a process for recovering stored polynucleotides from vesicles are both disclosed. The polynucleotides may be used for storage of digital information.

The method of claim 1 , further comprising:before receiving the indication of the host data rate, sending, to the host module, an indication that the optics module can communicate with the host module.3. Reinforcing fibers, such as aromatic polyamide (“aramid”) fibers, are treated by coating with or embedding in a binder such as a Fischer-Tropsch wax. The treated fibers are divided into suitably-sized units, which are added to bitumen, aggregate and other ingredients in an asphalt cement concrete mix. The units shed fibers into the mix during the manufacturing process so that the fibers are distributed fairly evenly throughout the asphalt mixture. The binder may also impart beneficial qualities to the finished asphalt concrete. 1.
