The invention discloses a combustion cylinder of an internal combustion engine, comprising: a first component restricted by a first hollow pipe including a predetermined length, the size and shape of the first hollow pipe are equipped to adapt to contain at least one piston performing reciprocating movement inside the hollow pipe, the first hollow pipe restricts a combustion chamber with high thermal coefficient of expansion and low heat conductivity; mixture of the fuel and the air can be introduced into the combustion chamber for compression and ignition; a second component including the high thermal coefficient of expansion and high heat conductivity and adjacent to the first component; a third component provided around the first hollow pipe and including the combustion chamber which includes low thermal coefficient of expansion and low heat conductivity and is adjacent to the first hollow pipe.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine having a cylindrical external housing 12 having a cylindrical cylinder for forming an output cylinder arranged in an annular shape. SOLUTION: A cylinder has opposed intake and exhaust pistons 38 and 40. The intake and exhaust pistons use an air bearing as a lubricant instead of conventional oil. The intake and exhaust pistons transmit outputs to rotary cams 46 and 48 arranged at opposed ends of the internal combustion engine. A cam following system is arranged in the pistons. The rotary cams are connected to an output takeout shaft 14 for operations. A four-bar link device 172 is connected to piston rods 56 and 58 for minimizing a piston side surface load. A jumper 84 is connected to the end of an output cylinder, and pressurizes air sucked in the internal combustion engine for scavenging the cylinder after combustion, and indirectly heats air in a combustion stroke in order to improve heat efficiency.
