Goods handling device

A goods handling device 1 for assisting delivery of heavy items such as beer barrels to or from a cellar comprises a base member 10, decoupleable anchorage means 20 for operatively anchoring said base member to a loading area near a cellar door or on a delivery vehicle, and pulley means 30 for operatively receiving a goods handling line. The anchorage means may comprise one or more pillars 21 which may be pivotable between a first position perpendicular to the base member and a second position parallel to said base member and which can be operatively inserted into sockets (26, fig 3) in the loading area. The anchorage means may also comprise pivotable flap members 50 which operatively rest on existing cellar skids and may be telescopic or otherwise extendable. The pulley means may comprise a ring or bar around which the handling line can run, or may comprise a vertical post with a winch arrangement (40, fig 3).

Combined ramp & ladder

The present invention provides a combined ramp and ladder 10 which, in use, is locatable between and upper level and a lower level, the device (10) including a first (12) and second (13) pair of elongate members; attachment means (14) which, in use, are readily attachable to a surface of a support member; the first pair of elongate members (12) in use, providing a inclining ramp down and/or up which goods can be lowered or raised; and at least one step (11) pivotably attached to the first and second pair of elongate members (12, 13) such that, in use, regardless of the inclination of the ramp provided by the first pair of elongate members (12), the step (11) is substantially horizontal. Preferably a pivoted hand rail is provided, the step or steps is/are detachable and the first and second pairs of members can be locked together when not in use. A pivoted base (16, Fig 2) can also be provided. The device is preferably used for delivering kegs or barrels to the cellars of a public house.

A goods handling device 10 comprises a body portion 11, attachment means 12 provided at one end of the body portion 11, releasably attachable to a first container 15, and supporting means 13 provided at the other end of the body portion 11 such that in use, a second container (16, Figure 2) can be rolled on to the supporting means 13 and then rolled on to the top surface of the first container 15. Preferably, the device is provided with a stabilising means 17 which substantially complements the outer surface of the first container. The supporting means 13 may have a lip or raised portion, and when attached to the first container, the body portion may extend away from the side of the first container. Preferably, the container is a beer barrel or keg.

A safety rail assembly

A portable rail assembly 10 to prevent passers-by from falling down a hole in the ground next to a building, for example an open trap door to a public house cellar, comprises a frame 11 of an inverted "U"-shape, which includes two downwardly extending legs 12, the upper and lower parts of each leg being connected to one another such that each leg is moveable between a first folded position and a second extended position. Extending from either side of the frame 11 are two rail members 13, the ends of which can be provided with a hook 15 adapted to be received by a wall mounted catch. Each rail member 13 is pivotally attached to the frame 11 such that they are pivotable to a substantially horizontal storage position.
